The future is ahead
Usually I like to share good news like the recent €37m investment in ARMOR BATTERY FILMS' new factory. But in recent days, it was with regret that we announced the closure of our KIMYA 3D filament and additive manufacturing business, which we enthusiastically launched in 2017.
ARMOR GROUP invested around €15m in this business, which looked promising at the time, with 30-40% growth expected in this industrial segment. Unfortunately, growth in this market has been much weaker than expected, and it has been hit hard by the economic crisis, with sales volumes of new machines falling, leaving no prospect of any significant improvement in the medium term.
15 people are affected. We will provide them with the best possible support, in line with our values, to enable them to find new opportunities internally or externally. The attention we pay to our employees, the lifeblood of any company, is fundamental. Whether it's in their integration, throughout their time with us or in their career and training paths.
Does this latest ordeal discourage us from continuing to innovate and undertake new projects? No. On the contrary, these setbacks have made us stronger, more realistic and more determined to invest in industrial activities that are useful to society.
With this in mind, we commissioned new flatbed screen printing equipment at our subsidiary ARMOR SMART FILMS, and designed our 1st refurbished print cartridge with an HP reset chip as part of the Secureuse Programme.
The future is ahead!
